"Well House Consultants - Python courses / what's special." - in answer to a request from a potential delegate.
Some delegates come with prior programming experience / others without - and they require different starting points. So we offer "Learning to Program in Python" - 5 days for newcomers to coding, and "Python Programming" - 4 days for those with prior programming experience. This means that newcomers won't get lost early on, and established programmers won't be in for a very slow start.
Public courses are limited to 8 delegates (and usually run with 3 to 5 people) meaning there's plenty of time for the tutor to spend with each person's individual issues and application - and to introduce the modules that are of interest to that person without the need for the course to formally cover a multitude of extension that few of the delegates will use.
Course run at our own training centre in Melksham, Wiltshire, where we also offer overnight accommodation (currently ranked no. 1 on Trip Advisor in Melksham!) and that means no 5 p.m. chuckout if you want to carry on, with access to training room early and late and a chance to network with other delegates, use the open source library, etc.
Once you are booked, we will not cancel a course (even if you are the only delegate) nor will we "consolidate" it at the last minute (or at any time!) with another course running in a different part of the UK - perhaps 500 miles away.
With Python (and with any programming language) there are concepts / elements that are best understood when demonstrated - and we will show you HOW we write programs and not just the end result. You'll need to be writing programs yourself, after all, and just showing you the finished product is useful but not as useful as it could be. We're able to do this (not easy on the tutor) because our material is actually written by the tutor, who uses Python every day yet is a professional tutor who's very used to teaching and getting the meaning and the techniques across. Our course tend to be "light" on subjects that you can easily read up on later - there seems little point in reading out lists of methods to you when you can easily look them up for yourself when you need. But, yes, we will tell you how and where to look them up.

With Python, we're currently on the move from Python 2 to Python 3. The changes, though much discussed, aren't actualy that great for the programmer and the course will cover the differences. The tutor will establish the background / needs of the group to ensure the right mix is taught. Delegate systems run both versions, practicals are your choice.
What we don't offer is the same scheduled courses worldwide, so it you're looking for a course for you in the UK and an identical course for a colleague in Vancouver, that's probably not us. But then such a course needs to be reduced to a common denominator and may not be the best individual solution - and it certainly won't be presented by a tutor who has the intimate knowldge of what he's teaching from having actually written the course.
