Well House Consultants lists all of its numbers with the telephone peference service. We are a small company, with members of our team undertaking detailed techincal work and every call pulls us from that work and we can take a while to get back into the flow. We are delighted to hear from customers, potential customers, friends, contacts and colleagues. We do not want to hear from people we have never spoke to before who ask us the most personal of details, and seem to think that we may make a buying decision based on their call. If you want to get in touch because you've got something you think we'll really want, please send us a personal email which we can then respond to an a convenient time rather than being interuped by a phone call.

From an email from the TPS:

£75,000 FOR CALLING NUMBERS ON THE TPS

The ICO has fined Cold Call Elimination Ltd £75,000 for making unsolicited marketing calls to sell cold call blocking devices.

Cold Call Elimination Ltd is run by Leah Masters, who also ran a company by the name of Cash 4 Clothes (UK) Ltd and is a currently running GetWork2Day Ltd. They clearly thought they could call numbers registered on the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) and get away with it or possibly that it was ‘worth the gamble’, but clearly that did not prove to be to be the case.

Companies are not allowed by law to call anyone registered on the Telephone Preference Service unless they have specific consent.

The company, based in Chichester, was telephoning people to sell a call-blocking service and device to stop unsolicited calls. Ironically, the same type of calls the company itself was making.
