My pictures of Melksham Carnival, 13th July 2013

Pictures of Melksham Carnival, taken from the corner of Spa Road / Coronation Road / Warwick Crescent. Many of these pictures are taken into the light and it's very difficult to do justice in a photograph to the enclosed floats, where the pictures have to be shot into shadow too. Come and see the carnival for yourself next year!

If you're wondering why I chose an "into-light" place to take pictures from, I needed to be at the front gate of Well House Manor to be able to nip in and look after guests, and also to help make our facilities available as appropriate to the spectators. We turned into a bit of a car park - which suits me fine!

Great parade - well done to everyone who took part in the searing heat. Thank you too to the organisers who put such a huge amount of effort in, and for the most it looks like it went pretty well, considering how many of them were new to that role. A few lessons to be learned for next year (see previous blog), but - wow - what a show and THANK YOU!
