The first Luas of the morning

I'm writing on the first Luas from Tallaght - the Luas being the Dublin tram, and the first Saturday service being at 06:30. The end of a long, tiring, but rewarding week. I've trained 19 delegates in Python, 16 delegates in C with 14 of them staying on for a Friday afternoon half day introduction to C++. The fast ferry leaves from Dublin port at 08:45 and I'll be on board - headed off for a week's holiday. My how times have changes - I expect to be able to post this from the ferry.

But for now I'm going to sit back, watch the journey and recover from finding myself locked IN to the hotel and nearly missing the tram. Never mind the tight timing on the next one (in 20 minutes for the boat)... worry about the fire hazard. "Aren't you going to check out" asked the chap I eventually found around the back. "I paid on check in" I told him. "And I told your manager last night that I was catching the 06:30 Luas"... of course you can't expect a hotel with hundreds of rooms to actually listen to its customers, can you? It was cheap, it was in the right place, the bar was open for a Guiness on my arrival at 01:00 on Thursday morning, so it wasn't all bad. Oh - and comfy room, TV worked from the side controls (sort of) once I took the covers off and plugged the arial in, and I got a lovely long hot bath yesterday.
