How to make an ohno cake

I enjoy baking, but I always seem to be short of an ingredient or two, and I really don't like making a load of washing up with measuring containers. So I'll tend to use bucket cookery techniques.

This is all very well for a long suffering family (at least most of what I produce is edible), but causes a problem when I'm up against experts, such as at the final gathering for participants at the end of this year's Melksham festival of food and drink. So - on the basis that I couldn't beat them, I decided to make fun of my lack of ability and I baked an "ohno cake".

It was pointed out to me that the cake really should have been called an "oh sh** cake" due to what I said while mixing it, when I confused the gantry release and the beater switch on the mixer; this resulted in a small amount of mixture being distributed all around the kitchen ...
