Not everyone wants to be at work before 7 on a Saturday morning, but I love it in the good weather in summer.

Well House Manor offers hotel accommodation in a quiet location, yet close to Melksham Town Centre. We're also home to a museum showing aspects of the history of Melksham, and serve strawberry cream teas every afternoon - in the garden in good weather, inside in the rain.

I'm writing this at around 2 p.m. ... coming to the end of my shift and headed off home soon. I can hear Phil - our museum curator - talking to a visitor in the "Berks" - the main exhibition room. The smell of freshly baked scones is whafting through the air, and I can hear Heather in the kitchen showing a young lady on work experience what work is like (and work sound like fun). A couple of guests who checked in late this morning have just taken their dog out for a walk, and other guests who were with us last night have gone out for the day to Swindon ...
