On Sunday, 6th May, Well House Manor will again be open from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. for Strawberry Cream Teas. If the weather's sunny and hot, sit in our garden. Or in any weather sit in the "Whitworth" room, or our lounge or library. And we'll then be open every afternoon throughout the summer - just walk in.
We'll be using local produce wherever it's practical. Our Clotted Cream comes from Somerset, our strawberries are English (subject to some seasonal availability), and this year our scones will be freshly made by our team on the premises.
Strawberry Cream Tea - two scones, clotted cream, jam, fresh strawberries, and a pot of tea - £5.00 per person. Or if you don't want a full cream tea - pot of tea / mug of fresh, bean-to-cup coffee - £1.50; Scone, cream and jam £2.00 each. Also a selection of pastries, cakes, toast, cold beverages including freshly squeezed orange juice.
Here is our team - Heather, Rachel and Sarah. They'll be delighted to serve you - to stop and chat, to find you the paper, to help you get online. We have a public access internet terminal, and wired and WiFi internet connections available free of charge for customers.
We welcome groups too - but please let us know ahead of time if there's going to be a lot of you so that we're not taken by surprise.
Well House Manor is also the home of a branch of the Museum of Melksham; opening on Saturday, 12th May at 11 a.m with an exhibition of travel and transport arteacts and memories from the Melksham area. The museum web site is [here]; our collection will be available each afternoon - check in advance with our website if you would like to meet our curator here for him to take you through the exhibits.
