Swindon to Trowbridge - transport and travel options

Swindon is a town that's so big it really should be a city. Trowbridge is the country town of Wiltshire, which more or less surrounds Swindon, and there's a great deal of business and commuter travel between the two.

If I want ideally to leave at 06:15, I've got these options:

06:12 -> 06:46 - 34 minutes - (a)
06:15 -> 07:00 - 45 minutes - (b)
06:15 -> 07:08 - 53 minutes - (c)
06:25 -> 07:28 - 63 minutes - (d)
06:05 -> 07:12 - 67 minutes - (e)
07:05 -> 08:25 - 80 minutes - (f)

Which one is which?

a) is a direct train service - twice a day; 06:12 and 18:44
b) is as the crow flies - at 30 m.p.h., which is the speed a crow flies
c) is driving by car - times from the AA web site
d) is a train service change at Bath - once or twice an hour
e) is the route 49 bus - the 06:05 takes a once-daily short fast route
f) is also the route 49 bus - every hour; this timing is hourly

You really should be able to travel a 23 mile journey in under 40 minutes between major towns - but you'll notice that even driving a car it's not possible in Wiltshire.
