Bookings for this event have been very light, and as the whole point of an event like this is to meet a lot of other people, we have taken the decision (6.1.2012) to cancel the event on 16th January. All prospective participants are welcome instead to come along on Tuesday, 21st February as guests to the Chamber of Commerce Meeting (same venue and time) - we're inviting quite a number of new faces that evening, and will ensure that everyone introduced themselves briefly at the beginning, and that we leave time at the end of the meeting for informal networking.

Working with other businesses is our lifeblood - and it's that way for almost every other business.

How do you keep your contacts and relationships up to date? How do you find someone to undertake a new task, or to take on a changing one? How do you find new customers for your business? It's good to work through a network of ambassadors - to be able to find the correct supplier through recommendations of his other customers, and meet customers through recommendations of your contacts. And it's good to work with people you know and meet locally rather than making more random selections from advertising. And it's in this light that business networking thrives.

A couple of years ago, we ran a series of "Speed Networking" events at Well House Manor - where 21 different Melksham businesses each get to spend five minutes with the other 20. And they were a big success; a really positive set of meetings, and with business following directly or indirectly as a result of contacts and 3rd party recommendations made. So I'm please to announce another Speed Networking Event - to take place again on Monday, 16th January 2012 at Well House Manor.

Here's how it works ... arrive from 18:30 ... register, be in place by 18:50 and the "compere" will tell you how it works. Meeting, business to business you have 4 brief minutes for "A" to inroduce themselves to "B", "B" to introduce themselves to "A", and to exchange cards, literature, whatever ... and perhaps agree to meet later or get in touch. A minute to move on, and you'll have met 10 businesses in the hour. After a brief interval, we'll resume and you'll meet the other businesses too.

We'll be providing a buffet supper, teas, coffees and soft drinks (all included in the price), so there's no need to try to dash home from work before the networking.

Although the even isn't running until early next year (what better way of kicking off 2012 business?), why not book NOW? It's a "first come, first served" system ... so "snooze, you loose". First publicity was at last night's Chamber of Commerce meeting, and already we've got 17 places left to be booked rather that 21 ...
