Are you a half full or half empty person?

Let me show you a picture - the swimming pool that's just outside our hotel building.

We checked in at the main lodge on Saturday, without a car and after a flight from the UK followed by a wait for a transfer bus for 60 minutes in the searing heat while others on the flight who are staying at the same place took (much) longer to get through immigration and customs. We've been allocated a room right across the complex - it's about a ten minute walk - let's say about 400 yards, but it took us longer the first time when we struggled somewhat to find it, and had the stuff we had brought with us to contend with. It remains galling to have to pass right by our room in the buses we're using but not being allowed on or off there, because the bus stop here (like the pool) is closed for maintenance "to make a better experience for your next visit". But there's a bright side too.

The walk is lovely - flat, well lit, and you've already seen some of the pictures that I've taken on that walk. I think I'm "half full" and celebrating that fullness - enjoying what we have, and have to do, which is more than plenty for the few days that we're here. And - although we might be justified to some extent, I'm not going to raise a full here about it; we've better things that to hang on on hold to guest services. Come to think of it ... where's breakfast? I had better put on my hunter-gatherer outfit and head out with the pack.
