This is Chloe. In the garden at Well House Manor - our hotel in Melksham, Wiltshire. Policy until recently was "no pets" ... but Chloe's owner was booked into another local hotel who accepted more bookings than they had available rooms, and Mr and Mrs Chloe found themselves booked with us - only when they got to Melksham did we realise there was a dog ...

As you can see, there's plenty of space in the garden at Well House Manor - in fact many aspect are ideal for a dog, and we accepted the Chloe family ... subject to the proviso of "extra cleaning charge if necessary" - but it wasn't necessary. In fact a good time was had by all, and we'll be happy to accept well behaved dogs at weekends and bank holidays in the future.

Our Gypsy welcomed Chloe too - they had quite a romp, and I'm happy - having checked with staff who would / will be involved in any extra cleaning, to have changed our policy.

Well House Manor is a small, privately run hotel in Melksham, Wiltshire - about 3 miles from Lacock, 3 miles from Holt, 6 miles from Devizes and about 10 miles fron Bath and from Longleat. Melksham's a great touring centre - there's plenty of lovely country - rolling hills and the valley of the river Avon, antiquities all around, and just half an hour's walk from the Kennet and Avon Canal. We welcome guests from all over the world - whether they arrive by train, bus, car, taxi, bicycle or motorbyke, and whether they stay for just one night or for a longer period.
