Melksham Chamber of Commerce and Industry is delighted to welcome Samantha (Sam) Geddes to the new role of honorary press officer. Sam has lived in Melksham for a number of years, and runs her own business "Organised Little Things" - a holistic lifestyle organising service created to offer tailored time saving solutions for busy Professionals & Families - from her base in the town.
With many topics such as car parking, trees, postal services for businesses, commercial waste issues, pubic transport, supporting the present and planning for the vibrant future of the Melksham, the Chamber of Commerce now meets formally once a month (formerly once every 2 months) at Well House Manor, on Spa Road. There are many extra and special event too - such as the recent meeting to discuss "Melksham Forward", sponsored by that Chamber and attended by over 40 people. Forthcoming events later this month include a business networking event on 10th and 11th May (in conjunction with other Wiltshire towns who are also members of the Wessex Association of Chambers of Commerce), and regular business and our AGM on 24th May. There are two more events in Melksham in June too, and Spot the Oddity and much more in July.
As press officer for the Chamber, Sam will provide an additional contact point into the Chamber of Commerce for the media. Sam says "My life and work experiences have allowed me to develop essential tactics to enable smooth organisation for all kinds of different situations and events" and that will stand her in good stead for giving rapid responses when required by press deadlines to unfolding events in Melksham. Sam will also be sending out regular press releases to keep the media informed as to what's happening at the Chamber of Commerce.
"I'm delighted that Sam has agreed to take on this role" says Graham Ellis, currently President of the Chamber (at least until the AGM). "These are time of great change for Melksham and for Wiltshire, and times of change are times of great opportunity to lay a firm foundation for the future. Strong press coverage coordinated by an experienced organiser will allow us to help the town's businesses, the town as a whole, and the wider area, move forward with the wider community fully informed and involved".
Sam can be reached on 07771 982305, and by email at mail@organisedlittlethings.com
