TransWilts rail - coming together, wanted and needed

You'll have seen a slight gap in the blog ... as this has been a mad week on rail campaigning, culminating in two meetings coming up tomorrow - a launch / update for businesses at 10 a.m. and a working group meeting on the business and community case document at midday. And I'm not reporting "the half of it" here - some of the stuff is under wraps until later today and some of the behind-the-scenes stuff is just too long to be of interest, and some would just look like name-dropping.

The TransWilts case is an excellent one, and looking stronger with each day and input received; for sure there are things to do, but here's a summary of responses from over 150 businesses, with 92% of them agreeing that the service would make their business more accessible and competitive.

Over 1600 people replied to the public survey ... and this is the diagram that shows how much they would expect to use the line at weekends - I add it up to around 18,000 trips (36,000 single journeys) and as most of them will have been answering for their family group, that's a conservative number.

There's a great deal else too - the business reports are embargoed until 10 a.m. ;-) ... but I can point you towards the community case that I've been working on - [here] - and you'll find much more that's exciting in that.
