In February 2009, petrol was £0.90 per litre, in February 2010 it was £1.12 and by February 2011 it was £1.28.

In February 2009, a 2 day public course at Well House Consultants would have cost you £600.00 + VAT. In February 2010 it would still have been £600.00 + VAT, and in February 2011 it remained at £600.00 + VAT. And if you look at prices for private courses on site, you'll find they are unchanged too. That's because we've been able to make some efficiencies, because interest rates that we have to pay are low at the moment, and because the cost of renewing computer equipment has dropped over the years and we've been passing on that saving. Equipment has also got significantly lighter, helping us to keep a lid on our average travel costs by using rail and bus transport rather more, against a rising petrol (for car) and airline tax backdrop.

Here I am - in March 2011 - with our web site quoting prices for courses booked by 31st of this month. And I've just take a phone call from a potential customer looking for a discount based on "our budgets are tight". Yes - so are ours and we want to do our best for our customers - ALL of our customers and not just those who start bargaining / asking for a special deal.

All of our deals are special. We are leaving prices unaltered for the rest of 2011 - so you can book any course, and the hotel rooms that goes with it if you're staying with us - at the same ex-VAT (UK £s) price that you would have paid for the same course in the same location in 2009.

One of those "no news is good news" stories ...

What courses are we talking about? Public courses in programming languages:
Perl Programming - 5 courses
PHP Programming - 6 courses
Python Programming - 3 courses
Lua Programming - 3 courses
Tcl Programming - 3 courses
Java Programming - 3 courses
C and C++ Programming - 5 courses
Ruby Programming - 4 courses
and also public courses in:
The MySQL database - 1 course
Linux and web server deployment - 5 courses

Private (single client company) courses are tailored - often heavily tailored - from the outlines of public courses, and we have many extra modules that we can use which don't appear on any public courses - there's a complete list of current and archive modules [here] ... and if we offer most of what you need in these lists, we may be able to offer all that you need - please ask. And at 2009 prices too.

P.S. We've also held the delegate hotel rate at £60.00 + VAT (so that's £72.00 inc VAT) per room per night. And that rate is available to delegates who've attended a Well House course at any time - at our place or at yours. All rooms are double, prices include a superior continental breakfast for 2 people. Ideal for sightseeing in Wiltshire, or for an overnight stop on your way to the West Country. See Well House Manor web site. Now staffed, from early till late, 7 days a week. Let me know if you'll be bringing a technical question with you ...

Pictures - course resources, classroom setup, and a course delagate on last week's private Tcl course which tas tailored to include elements of wish and Tk, but excluded expect as it was not required by the client.
