New Computers for delegates to use

Time flies! It doesn't feel like it - but it's been three years since we replaced our fleet of delegate computers (see [here]). The Compaq machines have really done very well, but they're beginning to look a little long in the tooth. Those that are still running Windows have been running Vista, and it's time to move on to Windows 7, and those that were running Linux were getting to be (over)due for an upgrade too. A maturing of operating systems such as Ubuntu means that - these days - we can easily build wireless, dual boot, static IP servers, and developments in hardware (especially batteries) means that we can provide a lighter, but still professional machine. And lighter machines will mean that we can keep our travel costs down when we come on site - see [here].

Starting with the C Programming course on 23rd and 24th January, and the C++ course which follows it, we'll be using our new fleet ... we're just in the process of building them over this weekend. We've decided to name the machines after places around the world which we've been on Well House Consultants business ... how many of these can you place or guess?

I'll come back / update this page to tell you where they are in due course
