2999 - looking back

This is the first of a series of articles that reviews where Well House Consultants has been - and where we're going - after 6 years of blogging and some 3000 articles. - "towards the next 3000"

I'm headed towards article number 3000 - this is blog article 2999. I started writing back in the summer of 2004, over two thousand two hundred days ago, and I didn't expect that I would be writing almost every day, year in, and year out.

So much has changed in six years. I've progressed from being "just" a disinterested member of the local community who trusted that government and authority always knew what people wanted and did their best to provide it to someone with a far more active role in cases where the powers that be didn't / don't know what people want(ed), or know perfectly well but have other priorities, sometimes less laudable ones. As a company, we've moved from being just a training provider to being a training provider with a wider portfolio, and to a company that provides hotel accommodation with the courses and indeed for other visitors to Melksham. And our web site has grown by leaps and bounds, with our logs increasing 20-fold in 5 years, with many of our niche resources downloaded hundreds of times a day. And that's not counting some of the spin offs with hundreds of members, thousands of threads, and tens of thousands of messages.

I look back at achievements I feel proud of, good friends and acquaintances made and retained, places I have visited and enjoyed, and indeed work - and writing - that I have enjoyed doing too. Of course, there have been downs as well as ups, but the ups have outweighed the downs and will be the abiding memory.

Article 3000 should not look back - so this is article 2999. Article 3000 will look forward. But - looking back and forward - it couldn't have been done and wouldn't have been done - and nor would all the personal stuff that I don't blog about be done, or fun, without Lisa ... who through her own modesty gets far too few mentions here. Lisa - THANK YOU - for everything. Love you ;-)
