Every cloud has a silver lining

They say that "every cloud has a silver lining". Is that silver lining volcanic dust from the Eyjafjallajoekull eruption in Iceland?

All UK flights are grounded as I write - this picture is one I took on Sunday, checking in at Southampton airport on my way to Dublin to give a two day "bootcamp" style private Python course to a small group who have been programming for years but are just now converting to Python, and needed to get their heads around some of the more interesting features of the language - so that they can write good Python code and not just code which would look like "C++ Conversions". I flew back on Tuesday evening [further pics], before the volcanic problems, and have been training in Sussex since.

We had two guests who were due to check out EARLY this morning - car booked at 06:15 to take the to the airport, so staff in from 05:summat to smooth them on their way. But - ahead of time yesterday - we knew they would be delayed at the least, and we've let them know that their rooms are available should they wish to extend. We are local here; we can handle / help - and indeed it's part of what we're here for. I don't know which way the wind will blow today - we await developments - but I do know that we, along with others, may find our Friday night bookings somewhat stronger than is usual for that day of the week.

I suppose I should add an "advertorial link", shouldn't I? Click [here] for the Well House Manor web site. We're a hotel - and we're very used to helping visitors to the Melksham area get here, and get on to their next destination too. We know all the local stuff so we can help you before, during and after your stay even if plans change at the last minutes - due to business changes, snow, flood ... or volcanic ash!
