Castle Newsagents, in the Market Place on the corner of Spa Road, closed suddenly last week after many year. The local press asked me for comment and frankly I was at a bit of a loss as to know what to say. It's sad to loose another business, and one that's been in the town for so many years too... but it's not the first, probably won't be the last, and it wasn't a shop I used very often as I found their displays tired and I didn't feel 'at home' there. I was wondering to myself "What's that going to do to Kim", who's the lady who took over the Cornerstone Cafe next door about 20 months ago, and has taken it from strength to strength.Good news... EXCELLENT news...
Kim is taking over the Newsagent store and will be opening from 5 a.m. next Monday morning... under her "Cornerstone" banner. A fresh start, a fresh look, fresh stock... and I wish her well.You'll find further comment on "The Cornerstone" here on this site.
